Got Vanguard? How about Aspire? Quickly find out. 🕵🏽♀️
Got Vanguard? How about Aspire? Maybe you have a good 457(b)? Now you can quickly find out with a new 403bwise feature. We have just created what I can only describe as a 1.0 effort to provide a one-stop location for teachers and school employees to see if their employer offers a quality 403(b) vendor and/or a quality 457(b) plan. We will continue to update this resource.
Each school district maintains a 403(b) and 457(b) vendor list. These are the companies that employees are permitted to invest with. One of the most asked questions on the 1,500-teacher strong 403bwise Facebook Group is: How do I find out who my vendors are and do I have a quality vendor? It is so gratefying when a teacher posts his or her vendor list and the community weighs in. Now before school employees even reach out to their employer they can quickly find out if they have low-cost leader Vanguard available or Aspire, which offers access to low-cost companies like Fidelity, TIAA-CREF, T. Rowe Price and Vanguard for a nominal fee.
457(b) > 403(b)?
In many cases the 457(b) can be superior to the 403(b) which is why we also list search tools for several excellent, state-run (and one district-run) 457(b) plan. You can read more about the 457(b) here which includes a side-by-side comparison with the 403(b) plus links to two podcasts on the 457(b). You can learn even more about this plan at our free upcoming Get Wise to the 457(b) Event. We do one of these each month.
Stay wise. Stay well. Happy searching.
