LAUSD Teacher on F.I.R.E.
July 12, 2022
A few years ago Los Angeles educator Mary Ann Sullivan came across a New York Times article on the F.I.R.E. movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early). "It immediately resonated with me. These are my people!" she recalls. At the time she was serving as a principal in the Los Angeles Unified School district and was as she described it "on the edge of sanity."
Today the now 49-year-old is retired and the only edges she worries about are those on her snowboard. She just retired to Mammoth Lakes, California, a four-season town nestled in the Sierra Nevada. He plans? Teach snowboarding and help educators become financially savvy.
Stay wise and well (and know with knowledge and access to low-cost investments you too can have an amazing retirement).
