School Districts That Don't Levy 403(b) Tax
September 6, 2022
Multi-vendor 403(b) plans are a tax on employee time and retirement savings balances. Most school district 403(b) plans are multi vendor. The National Tax-Deferred Savings Association actively works to prevent school districts from going single vendor.
Despite these roadblocks 126 school districts in the 403bwise Disrict Plan Rating Project offer one, low-cost vendor. Each of these districts have earned our A rating. If they can do it, so can your school district.
Takeaways
- 13 states have at least one district that offers a single vendor plan
- Colorado, Illinois, Maryland and North Carolina each have three
- Indiana has 9 districts
- Wisconsin has 97!!
- California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Texas have ZERO
Stay wise and well (all employees deserve an A+ plan).
