June Boom

July 16, 2024

Coastal Californian's have an expression for their June weather: June Gloom. As an inland Orange County kid my friends and I would pile into a car or cars and bee-line it to the beach to escape the high temperatures of our eastern county home. Right about the halfway point — Santa Ana — we would hit a wall of grey and mist. It would only get worse as we inched our way to the coast. Sunny optimism would meld into jacket regret. As in: Why did I leave my jacket at home? The marine layer would invariably burn off just about the time we would have to turn around in order to make it to our restaurant jobs. There are far worse fates and life situations I realize, but having been recently released from the clutches of school, you can't fault teenagers for wanting to have a little fun in the sun.

June Boom

Last month the news at 403bwise can only be described as a June Boom. Boom as in the number of page views (35% increase from the month before and a 145% increase from the previous June) and the number of Facebook Group Members (we hit 16,000 members on June 2nd, and ended the month at 16,428 members). It's pretty clear that the 403bwise word is getting out. We couldn't be more thrilled. It means that more educators and 403(b) contributors will get the critical information they need to make wise saving for retirement choices.

People Really Want to Exit Red Rated Vendors

Something that hasn't changed is new Facebook Group Members desire to leave Red Rated Vendors. It continues to be the first post for most new members. In no time, scores of members will chime in with suggestions on how to get out, and often, how they themselves got out. Whether you join the growing FGB or not here's an indispensable resource: How to Get Out of a Bad 403(b)

Stay wise and well,
